This is the third affordable condenser mic I use for my home studio. I would say this is the cheapest but the best. The other two I've used are AT2020 (USB) and MXL V67G. I've used it on vocals and acoustic guitar and it responded very well on both occasions. The mic has a bass rolloff and a -10dB pad switch which are very useful. Bass rolloff is useful to reduce the proximity effect as suggested in the manual. I've personally used it on vocal recordings and the pop filter is still not enough to cut out the pop effect. The -10dB pad is useful when there is unwanted background noise. Since my studio headphones aren't the best at isolating, the mic often picks up music out of the headphones, and the -10dB limit really helps here. (Especially with the price drop, it used to be $99). It comes with shock absorber and carry bag as shown in many photos. The shock absorber is very easy to use (see video). All you have to do is clamp it and plug the mic right in. For the price, the sound is unbeatable. I bought the pop filter separately which is attached right above. What I like most about the mic is how professional it looks ;) and is very well built. HIGHLY recommended for any user looking for an entry-level microphone on a budget of <$100.
