MXL 770 Cardioid Condenser Microphone Review

I use this microphone for a podcast and also for a YouTube channel and it suits my deeper voice very well. It has a rich and warm tone that I had to smooth out a lot to bring back when I was using my old NW700. It throws him out of the water. I would suggest purchasing a pop screen or windscreen when purchasing to block explosives and reduce background noise a bit.

I cannot recommend this mic enough! I made the mistake of NOT buying this mic first - when I first started voicing I settled on sub $30 mics which pollute the Revain. complete garbage! This is the third affordable condenser mic I use for my home studio. I would say this is the cheapest but the best. The other two I've used are AT2020 (USB) and MXL V67G. I've used it on vocals and acoustic guitar and it responded very well on both occasions. The mic has a bass rolloff and a -10dB pad switch which are very useful.
