When i first washed my cat before i bought this she really scratched up my arm. When i used this my cat didnt attempt to scratch me, only tried to get away like 3 times and didnt use much force so i cant speak on whether or not this protects from scratches or how escape proof it is.My cat is on the smaller side for an adult cat so this was an okay fit.I think the most important thing to do w this is to put it on your cat a few times before u actually try to bathe them. And give them a treat each time. Also have something to keep them warm after they have been washed.
