I'll start by wiping the thing down in the mangle. I towed my car over rough terrain on an open trailer. The weather was nice on the first day, but rain was forecast for the second day. I put it on my car that night and when I left the hotel my car was bone dry on a trailer. I decided to leave it on while we were towing the car in the rain on the second day of our trip. It was behind UHaul. We accelerate to 70-75 km/h. It lasted about 100-125 miles before it broke. Luckily the rain stopped and I took off my blanket. In general, it works great when the car is stationary. I do not recommend using it when towing.
