I bought this journal for my college son who wanted a simple leather looking cover, lined journal. There are lined pages, the cover looks leather with a "tree of life" engraved on it. There is a pocket in the back cover to keep things such as receipts in, and there is a stretchy pen holder with what looks like a tab attached that has a sticky side to it so you can attach the pen holder anywhere you would like. The book has a stretchy elastic band that fits the cover to keep it closed and there is a thin fabric book mark attached to keep your place with. It seems like a very nice journal for the price. It is a small size if you compare it to a regular piece of paper, but this is the kind of journal my son was looking for.
