I fitted this starter to my Sears LT2000 17hp Kohler. Installation was easy and quick. I've started the mower 10 times in a row and only 3 times has the starter properly disengaged. Each time he clung to the flywheel for about 1 second. I removed the starter and put some shims I made out of cardboard cut out (only needed a very small spacer) to move it slightly away from the flywheel. Launched 10 more times in a row without incident. As it is now winter, I have not used the mower yet. Test runs only. hope it lasts Priced at 1/3 of Sears' purchase price, it won't take long to justify its price.
