. Love the pink color scheme! But appearances can be deceiving. After using each item I came to the conclusion that I would never buy this. Here's what I think of each item included in the gift set: β’ Straw cup. Keep in mind that this particular mug really should be something for slightly older children. At first I tried drinking it before giving it to my daughter. I had to suck really hard to get even the smallest amount through the straw. My other complaint is the way it opens and closes. I think the closing requires too much work, so it would be difficult for a small child around 2 years old to do it. Half of the lid folds over the straw and closes it completely, but when you press on it there's too much resistance. Also, drops of water splash on my face every time I open it. Not exactly perfect. It has a rather unique quality: you can drink from it from almost any angle. The inside of the straw is not rigid and straight like regular cups, but a flexible straw that hangs freely and has a round disk at the end. Your child can tip the cup up and this little disc sucks the water out of the cup wherever it is placed. It's pretty cool to me! It's made of some kind of plastic and not too thin, so you don't have to worry about it breaking easily. β’ Suction front panel with smiley face. I was surprised by the incredible absorbency of this plate! It gets stuck on my kitchen counter until I pull on the small notch (top) to loosen it. The color is bright and rich, it has excellent quality, thick design, but it's just not convenient to use. The emoji is raised on the inside but doesn't divide into portions (like a regular kid's plate) so there's no way to keep food in one place. To be honest it would have worked much better if the emoji hadn't been addressed. I know my family would benefit a lot more if it was decorated like a regular plate. β’ Fork and spoon are great! They are the perfect size for toddlers to hold and have a good grip making them easy to grab. The tips of the fork are rounded to keep little ones just learning to use utensils safe. They also have a small rectangular element to keep the little ones from choking. These items are also great for keeping a fork and spoon off the table. Less mess to clean up! I feel like $20 is way too much for this set despite being professionally packaged and gift ready. I can't imagine these items costing more than $3-4 when purchased individually, so the $20 price tag just doesn't add up. Everything is well made with quality materials but overall I would not recommend this dinnerware set.
