Overall the design is pretty flimsy but so is pineapple and it cuts them like butter. The included part "apple slicer" fits over a metal tube so that the pineapple can be cut into medium-sized cubes. It's fairly thin but strong enough to easily slice pineapples. It's very easy to dice half a pineapple and round the other half. To get to the round parts you have to remove the handle, which feels easy but is quite painful, the plastic parts that hold it together are difficult to work with. But it's functional, and as long as someone with strong hands is around, it's not too bad. Also, the easiest way to clean this is to pull out the handle and cut off the slicer, after which cleaning is easy. Also, it's very easy to go back and cut more of the pineapple if the first cut isn't deep enough and there's a little left over. below (like mine, see pictures). Some reviews say there is a lot of litter, but I had no issues with litter. Anyway, I managed to use more pineapple than usual. For the occasional pineapple, this isn't a problem, it's inexpensive, does the job well, and is easy to use and clean. But if you cut a lot of pineapple I'll keep looking as it won't keep.
