I bought this to replace a dedicated knife magnet strap when I realized my kitchen didn't have enough room for a separate knife magnet and utensil strip. It did a great job of hanging my knives and utensils while saving space. The magnet is strong and can easily hold my 8" chef's knife and 7" hatchet. I just wish it was longer. Easy to install, although you will need a 1/4" drill bit to properly seat the plastic mounting jigs into the drywall. Cons: The stainless steel finish is not very durable and shows small marks from repeated attachment/detachment of knives. Likewise, depending on the material your knife is made of, the surface of the knife may be scratched if you pull the knife down on the magnet surface when removing it. Be careful not to damage the device. Finally, attached hooks will fit most stainless steel or silicone/nylon utensils, but wooden utensils with larger handles and/or deep hook holes, like the OXO Good Grips Wooden Spoon Set, will not fit hooks.
