Review on Sportiva Womens Bushido Running Potion Sports & Fitness by Reginald Holman

Narrow toe box outweighs the benefits of good traction

I bought these after seeing them top several lists of great trail running shoes. Unfortunately, they appear to be designed for an unusually narrow foot. I gave the Bushido two stars because the outsole grip is really good. But the shoe itself negates any benefit of good traction by narrowing the base of the treadmill. It seemed to me that I was walking on parallel logs and had cages on my legs. If I didn't land quite right, my ankles had to adjust, making these shoes not only uncomfortable but also dangerous for me. I was more unstable on the track in these specific shoes than in the foot-molded road bike boots. I hope more shoe companies understand the radical idea of brands like Altra and Lems that shoes should be designed for human feet.
