The drive was bought to replace a Seagate ST5000DX000 in a Lacie d2 USB 3 Thunderbolt case (LAC9000465) that got badblocked after 5 years of 24/7 operation. There were fears that the box would not "see" the new disc, but they were in vain, everything worked perfectly. Thunderbolt speed ~230 MB/s for large read/write files. The temperature after 6 hours of intensive copying of files to the device is 35 C (in the same mode, the old disk warmed up to 40 C), despite the fact that there is no fan in the Lacie case. Separately, I want to note the low noise level of the device, for me it was an important criterion. the disk is used to store video and is physically located in the bedroom, it does not interfere with sleep. Spindle hum and tapping heads are not audible.
