I am looking for new litter options as my cat is diabetic and uses a lot of water. Although his glucose levels are normal, he's a big cat so insulin doesn't help quench his thirst, so he urinates A LOT. Tired of constantly collecting clumps of pee-soaked litter (and using more plastic bags to dispose of that litter than I'd like as it's bad for the environment), Skoon was my first attempt at low-maintenance litter. I liked the idea of scooping less and was hoping it would last longer than regular clay filler. It took longer, with constant stirring, but not by much. Billed for a month, my first 4lbs from an 8lb sack lasted little more than a week before having to throw out all the junk, leaving a significant amount of unabsorbed urine despite my insistence on mixing. At first I liked the filler, but since I have to change it weekly due to the high cost, it just won't work. Enough bags of Skoon for a month is four times more expensive than a box of clay fillers. The search for a cheaper alternative continues.
