After many purchases and returns, we've been looking for coats that work for Sausage (Dachshund Mix) and Pot Roast (Schnauzer Mix) and they ended up fitting both. !The outer shell is waterproof and easy to clean. Wash with a mild, mild detergent and dry flat. The fleece lining is soft and warm. Our dogs don't like rubber bands, but they don't bother the coat lying on their backs. The length reaches to the base of their tails. Measure the circumference carefully as the Velcro straps are (side) tabs and do not end under the belly bands. Our girls wear mediums (20" and 21" circumference). Since one of the dogs is wider in the chest, we need to adjust the coat so that the velcro doesn't tighten more on one side than the other. A fur collar, leash/collar holes and reflective piping are added bonuses and a must have in our home. We are very happy with our purchase and believe our girls are too!
