Review on ๐Ÿ”‹ Miele Triflex Graphite Battery-Powered Vacuum Cleaner by Diana Cardonne

Terrible vacuum. But it sticks well to the wall.

I know professional cleaners who only use Miele vacuum cleaners. I like buying products that people in the industry use and rely on. It looked like it would fit my needs and I was thrilled to get it. The first clue that something was wrong was the barrel connector for the batteries and the fact that they didn't come charged. The batteries also struggled to charge from the start, and the indicator lights were confusing if they worked at all. The workmanship and the design of the vacuum cleaner is great. It seems to me that the company has outsourced the electronics, especially the batteries but maybe also the powered cleaning head. It worked fine at first, but within a week it was starting to bind to hair and carpet fibers, which even my $50 Walmart vacuum doesn't complain about. Also, you can't just remove the pulley to service the head bindings. You need to unscrew and disassemble the block. I came to my girlfriend with scissors and rubber gloves, carefully cut off the fibers and she said she had to do this almost every time she used it. It easily loses electrical connection to the expansion modules, and again the bad indicators don't work. I won't tell you shit. They just swap batteries back and forth and swear by it. Also, the batteries last 5 to 20 minutes, not 60 per battery as advertised. Not to mention the charging time with them when he complains about the battery overheating, although it clearly shouldn't be. The dust container is too small and too close to the filter. It clogs easily and is very difficult to clean. I went and looked at the Dyson v11 which has a single battery that lasts 120 minutes, more attachments and a very well tested motorized head and decided to return this beautiful disappointing albatross after seeing a simple discharged mechanism for one much larger canister had seen on the Dyson. Don't touch anything or fiddle with obnoxious, debris-covered, oversized combination locks to empty a can of soda every 15 minutes. Which I think is a reasonable amount of time since you'll need to change the batteries anyway. The Dyson is a bit bigger, but you get a lot more. I hate Dysons but I know they work. If Miele can fix this in the future I might try again. but I'll probably have a Dyson for so long that I'll forget this nightmare ever happened.
