Loose inner foam padding in sleeves. The fabric of the sleeves is quite thin. The velcro feels firm, the end glue holds them in place well, the stitching is neat and strong. I have a pair for a double office door (pictured). I trimmed it carefully to minimize the gaps as much as possible. I measured the sound level before (45dB) and after (41dB) so it helped reduce the noise outside the office. I used our Roomba on the other side of the door for a similar sample noise (door open - 50dB if you're up against the Roomba itself, that's 60-70dB depending on the model). 4dB might not sound like much, but remember that this is a logarithmic scale, meaning every 3dB is a halving of the noise level (or a doubling of the level as it gets louder). it is a 5 star rating.
