Review on Portable Acoustics JBL Charge 4, 30W, grey by Bujang'e Lor Nganim ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best thing I've ever used, a great item for everyone!

Sony began to die, depressurization occurred, rustling and wheezing began at any volume. Sold for 2k (bought for 5500). I took a discount in August for a couple of days, probably not more. Mb is generally a bug, I don't know). In general, I bought 2 pieces for 3k each. Sand color, TL version. The sound in TL is cleaner than in GG to the detriment of the type of water resistance. Although a couple of times the column was in the water for a couple of minutes, it’s true, but I didn’t notice any problems. Two pieces in stereo pile up better than extreme 2. But for this you need to turn on the application, wait until they connect, then select stereo, it's inconvenient. And on Windows, jbl connect does not work at all. In general, an extremely successful replacement of a broken column with 2 at a price of 1. It is not worth 3k, it costs more) But obviously not official 8k. Ideal for the price of 5-6

Pros
  • I have a review about the Sony XB31, where I wrote that its sound is more balanced. Correction: everything is exactly the opposite. Charge 4, with which I compared a year ago, was not mine, but a friend who, as it turned out, hung garbage on the equalizer. 1) The sound quality is completely different compared to Sony. Sony loves rock, but makes the sound very booming and boomy. JBL loves everything, but first of all, all the more popular genres now. The sound is balanced. It turns out that the tracks have not only bass and lower mids, but also high frequencies with separation of instruments. 2) Loss of quality in comparison with Sony at high volume is less. One speaker at 30W is definitely better than two at 15W. 3) Type c for charging, nice quality cable included 4) Fairly flat frequency response on firmware 3.0, but the bass is understated (which is why the frequency response is evener, I suppose) 5) The charge holds for a long time, 12-14 hours at a volume of 30%, this is enough for a room 6) Mono speaker ceases to be felt at a distance of more than a meter from the speaker for sure 7) Feel the presence of limiters at maximum load. Bass is gently reduced, without significant loss in sound quality, and reliability is increased. There are no hisses, no overloads at max volume.
Cons
  • 1) The software is so-so. I searched for the first time for a column for a long time, the paired one is displayed 10 seconds after the application is launched. Several connect sometimes problematic. 2) There is no Stand by mode, like in Sony, when the speaker is always on waiting for the connection, and then the speaker itself turns on. It was convenient when starting a PC with bluetooth for example. 3) Two identical ones do not start in stereo by default, you just need software 4) Live sound on Sony sometimes transformed the sound, but often distorted it. There is no similar function here, sorry.
