I have Contacted Tripp Lite regarding this Tripp Lite 1 Power Strip Portable Surge Protector as there have been many reviews posted on Revain about overheating and fire related to this product. Tripp Lite was unable to provide any documentation to indicate that the Tripp Lite 1-Outlet Portable Surge Protector Power Strip will interrupt power to connected devices and/or other safe failure modes when the surge protector is depleted. On the other hand, the Tripp Lite Isobar 2 Outlet Surge Protection Tripp Lite Isobar 2 Power Strip, Direct Plug, Metal, Lifetime Limited Warranty and $10,000 Insurance (ISOBLOK2-0) includes a failsafe thermal fuse and cuts power to all outlets. when it can no longer perform surge suppression. I went back to Revain for the Tripp Lite 1 Outlet Portable Surge Protected Power Strip and bought the Tripp Lite Isobar 2 instead. I find the Tripp Lite Tripp Lite Isobar 2 to be well worth the extra cost.
