I wore large European pillowcases on my American pillows for many years because I must be an idiot. I finally decided to buy US size cases and I really like them. They have survived the wash and dry (inside out) and are a pleasure to sleep in. I have a turquoise color, beautiful. Almost emerald green. I always sleep with a silk scarf wrapped around my hair, so I DO NOT NEED silk pillowcases, but I prefer them, especially on those rare occasions when my scarf comes undone in the middle of the night and doesn't bother me. to tie it back. Note: I don't care about 100% real silk pillowcases. If you're trying to slow down aging, good luck. Try sunscreen instead. If you're trying to reduce hair breakage and tangles, any silk/satin pillowcase will do, whether it's silk, polyester, or whatever. From what I understand silk may be better, but anything that feels silky and smooth to the touch will greatly reduce tangling. Don't forget to take this if you're staying the night with someone else. (Or put on a silk scarf and wake up with hair so straight and unruly you don't even need to brush it.)
