Switched from Core2Quad Q9450 2.66 Ghz and 820 million transistors gave out 2.89 gflops per core. (Memory was DDR3 1333. Assembled in August 2022.) The 6700K has 1.35 billion transistors, hyper-threading gives eight logical cores by default. Setting it up for constant overclocking will make sense in 5 years. I don’t chase constant innovations, I rarely buy iron and with a margin. The current system was assembled according to an American recipe. Disks, controller and sound are from the old system.
