on the money part there is no tension in the hinge at all. the hinge is just leather. The locking mechanism is a weak magnet. This means if you like carrying a lot of bills around, this is unfortunately useless. Otherwise, it's a good cardholder. But I was looking for something to store my money so I can't use that. It may open when you take it out of your pocket.
