Review on Sensor Sending Unit 3849411 3855535 by Jay Matlock

Terrible product. Not for a boat!

Buyers beware. This product is not designed for a boat. From what I've read a boat trim sensor (almost all makes and models) has a resistance of 0 to about 175 ohms. So that means when the actuator is in the lowest position, the trim sensor sends 0 ohms. When the disc is lifted, the resistance increases. Thus, one would expect the half edge to put out about 80-90 ohms. Well at about 1/8th of the pitch this thing is sending all 175 ohms and my sensor shows the drive is completely cut off. I checked the total resistance of this thing, it ranged from 0 to 1170. Wow. Terrible Chinese garbage. Do not buy. Luckily I checked before attempting to run this new wire through the transom (motor is still installed). I am sending it back and ordering another type with better reviews.
