Very very very pretty. It catches the light very well and the colors in the abalone and opal are bright. It it quite intricate and looks stunning in person. It does catch the dust and dirt we found after wearing it over the past month but cleaned quite easily. It lays very well and isn't to heavy. The clap that holds it closed is secure and has not inadvertently opened. the locket isn't waterproof so you have to keep that in mind.The reason we gave it a 4 was there was no template for cutting the picture which made it very time consuming to properly cut a picture the right dimensions so we photocopied and repeatedly cut until we got a proper fit before cutting the final picture.
