Review on Westin 22 1125 Step Bar Mounting by Dave Hammon

I bought a used new Westin part number 22-1125. At a greatly reduced price, I had my doubts that everything would be intact. However, all the details have been taken into account using the inventory list in the instructions. At that moment I was relieved, but disappointment was yet to come. There are two main problems. First, the secondary struts that stabilized the main struts did not align with any existing points on the body. No force will bring them any closer as they miss by about 4 inches. Okay, I thought to myself, let's do some proper help braces, it could be worse (and they are, read on). There was still hope that the main brackets would fit. They almost looked right. Well, the four main aspirations don't match. I mean the rear strut is 1.5 to 2 inches lower than the front strut. Doesn't sound like much, but add that to the 75-inch oval tube length and the rear peak is way too low in inches. I checked the height of the GMC's front and rear body mounts and they are the same height. I then measured the drop of the Westin's front and rear mounts. The rear mount has over an inch of additional drop. I called Westin Technical Support and the only help they could provide was to confirm that I had purchased the correct part numbers, tubing 22-5020 and mounting kit 22-1125. Or the Westin label on the 22-1125 mounting kit packaging does not match. on the parts it contains, or the attachment kit is not suitable for the intended purpose. My only options are to ask the metal shop to adjust the mounting bracket (shorter) and the great accessory brackets, or return everything and buy another brand. If my experience had not been unusual, I would not have bought the Westin if I were you. Or get photo proof of installation in your specific app first.
