Difficult to clean best in cutlery and knife accessories

This is a nice big heavy duty pair of scissors. The only thing I don't like about using it in the kitchen is that I can't take it apart to clean it. I use them to open a package of chicken and seafood and am concerned that bacteria will remain below the moving tipping point. They don't fit in the scissors slot of my carving block.
