The description states that these brackets are rated for speakers up to 60 or 66 lbs, both numbers are listed in the advert. My speakers weigh 48 pounds and these brackets will NEVER support them! Don't even think about trying it! The brackets were fairly easy to install, but as I started to place my speakers on the bracket, the "metal" bracket began to bend and twist, the speaker began to tip over and if I hadn't been holding it it would have been dropped. This is when the screw terminals are as tight as possible. I have decided against the 'extra' mounting method that requires drilling holes in my speaker cabinets, but I can assure you that even if the screws did penetrate my speaker, the vibration, twisting and tipping down would continue for so long would like the mount (and my speaker!) suffered a catastrophic failure. These mounts are reportedly a heavy-duty construction that will hold speakers up to 15 inches wide and weighing up to 60 or 66 pounds each. They'll probably work very well with 10 or 15 pound speakers, but I wouldn't want to try heavier ones, especially if you're concerned with property or people who might be standing under them from time to time.
