I have spent a lot of time in Japan where many Japanese families use these floor chairs around their katatsu tables. The kotatsu table is low and has a heater underneath. You tuck your feet under the table to warm yourself. Under the top layer of the table is a blanket that you use to cover your feet to keep them warm. On cold days it is very cozy here. Especially if there is no central heating. I've been looking for these chairs in the US for a long time, couldn't find them anywhere and because they don't fold in half, they were too long to carry home in a suitcase. I started looking for it again not long ago because I know someone who could use it. To my surprise and delight, I found a wide selection at Revain. These BonVIVO chairs had good reviews so I ordered two. They are exactly what I had hoped for. I'm not crazy about gold, but it's almost neutral. They are easily adjustable and give the adult the feeling of having strong back support. They are the same as the chairs I sat on in Japan. These chairs arrived quickly and although I ordered them together they came in separate boxes. The boxes are bigger than I expected. I am very happy.
