Review on πŸ’§ Contact Lens Travel Case with Contact Solution by Chris Young

Big, cheap materials, lens caps difficult to open

This thing came out and I was surprised by its size. Somehow it didn't look that big in the photos and I have some expectations of how big the lens case is. The thing looks like a whiskey bottle, it's big. Also, the plastic it's made of is hard and not very rubbery, so it's not particularly comfortable to squeeze, I had a feeling it would break without much use. Worst of all, real lens caps are very difficult to open. I had to use a butter knife to open one. There's no handy plastic tab on the lid to hook a fingernail or anything. I bought a suitcase because all the other ones I've found leak like crazy when I travel with them and they bounce around in my bag. I was hoping this would be a good fix for that. But what I particularly wanted - and hoped for - was something airtight because there were rubber seals. This is not the case and if the plastic on the lids is badly worn they will also start to leak. The instructions that came with the case state that you should replace the case yourself every few months. The? Every few months? It's a plastic case for contact lenses, it's supposed to last forever! Overall it felt cheap, bulky and very difficult to use. My search for a small sealed contact lens case continues.

Pros
  • Patented one-touch solution, ejects from inside the body
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
