Review on GE FXHSC Sediment Pre Filtration System for Household by Nick Brunner

What started as a project to replace an outdated water softener has turned into a monstrous deformity. Now that it's all done, I'm happy to report almost 24 months of trouble-free use of this filter (and its FXHTC counterpart). In my case, I change it less often than others due to water conservation efforts (see above, re:feature-creep). It does a good job of removing the sediment that my well pump sometimes sends down the tube. The only thing I saw in this filter were ants. Yes, ants. Somehow they've queued up 3-4 times in the 2 years I've been using them. Who knows what was there before, when there was no filter?
