These filters are basically just there to remove insoluble solids from your water and keep your pipes in good condition. We have ordered this filter several times and it has worked great, filtering out all the sediment and the horrible chlorine taste. The latter must have been bad or something because it doesn't filter chlorine at all. We installed it and gave it a week or so to see if it works on its own, but it's just awful. Had to return to Brita filter for drinking water and short showers due to dry skin.
