does what it is supposed to do, removes large chunks of sediment from my well water. My well water goes through this first in a 10 x 4.5" GE filter cartridge, then second in a 10/5/3 micron 10 x 4.5" filter, then third in a 10 x 2" carbon filter, to accept any problem with odor or taste.This is an inexpensive solution that can seriously improve my very hard well water.I change the filters every three months and they work fine.FYI, I also use the NUVO Whole House Chelating Filter, the fourth in a series of filters to try to reduce the iron after all the filters The effectiveness of this filter is still unclear.
