I'm having trouble transferring and converting cassettes to MP3 on my computer. I was able to use a 3.5mm to 1/4" jack adapter on the side of the cassette deck. But the computer and transfer software did not recognize the cassette deck when it was plugged into my computer's 3.5mm jack. After some research and previous experience doing this successfully for vinyl records, I came to the conclusion that I would need to purchase a sound card adapter to connect the 3.5mm cable. I read many reviews of alternative devices. But most reviews said the device wouldn't work as a microphone. However, this product received positive reviews and they clearly said it would. After receiving the device, it took me a while to figure out the correct recording settings for my computer. After that, my Sony Sound Stage software worked fine. I recommend this ENVEL headset adapter for similar purposes.
