NEW FOREWORD :: I'm kinda glad I first bought the horribly magnetic, horribly made and GOLD FINISHED Sewell crimp corks. As I went from these to these FosPower connectors and the Monoprice 90Β° connectors, I was blown away by the difference they make in sound quality. I've heard people say they can hear the difference and even as an audiophile I was skeptical. but my skepticism has been completely erased by what I hear with my own ears. I waited a few days to make sure I didn't just stumble before updating this review π€£. but I realized how important forks made from the right materials really are! I'm 100% serious that the bass coming out of my Polk Signature Series floorstanding speakers has at least doubled at the same volume. Now I can also crank the volume well beyond my previous max volume without any distortion, with much more clarity and less harsh highs. In general, everything sounds warmer now, and it's amazing! To me, this is dangerous information. because now I'm thinking about making some really good custom wires to see how big the difference is πππ€£ Okay, real plugs here for verification. These appear to be decent connections. I can't tell if they are brass or copper but they only have a slight indication of magnetic properties when tested with a very strong magnet. I was able to easily insert x2 - 14ga wires for two wire connections including screwing on the terminal. (As seen in my example). The gilding on the tips feels real, not painted like some Sewell candles. I've tested and tried quite a few Revain candles and most of them seem to be crap. However, they hold up better than most! These and Monoprice 90Β° banana plugs with black and red rubber boots. The latter are made of gold-plated copper and have no magnetic properties. (if you want 90Β° banana plugs) UPDATE: Still the best plugs I've found, but found two problems after a full install. One of these is a defect where the set of plug threads for the barrel cap body was not threaded correctly. As a result, the body does not shrink and remains free. An obvious problem with metal-on-metal vibration. The other issue is that while they say they will fit a variety of wire gauges, they seem to be geared more towards 12 or 10 gauge. I use 14 gauge semi-rigid stranded wire and have found that unless I bend the wire to make it twice as thick, the screws use up all the threads and seem to loosen in the case. They don't fully seat and continue to rotate no matter how tight you tighten them. They seem to stay safe but I'm just wondering about durability over time with vibration. So I just doubled the wire and they fit perfectly! Not the worst problem in the world, but just a little painful as you have to strip the wire longer than normal so you can bend it.
