I think you buy a large piece of silicone because the soldering is a bit messy and there are hot bits around . It's great for that. The main part seems to float on four small springs. I suspect it's pushing things towards the center, but I'm not sure. There are many places to put things, but not all seem to be useful. It's worth having, but it's not cheap. I'm glad it's quite big. Always have what you need that takes up space.
