I paint a lot of small details and my eyesight isn't what it used to be. This magnifying light is perfect. I've had other larger ones but they were difficult to maneuver into position. My brushes always hit the bottom edge of the magnifying glass. This one easily attaches to my painting table and easily snaps off. The magnifying glass isn't so big that I can't see the image I'm drawing around it. The light is of good brightness and stays in my preferred setting even after switching it on and off. I don't have to get my face as close to the glass to see clearly like I did with my old one. I'm so glad it broke so I was able to switch to this one
