Review on Aeotec Siren 6: Powerful Z-Wave Speaker & Light Security Intruder Alarm with Backup Battery by Eric Ross

I like the idea of multiple tones for alerts, as well as the support for the internal alarm siren. However, I ran into the following issues: Requires a third-party device handler. An easy installation process if you're familiar with the SmartThings IDE and already have an account (which I do). The setup was perfect on the first try, including using SmartApps for sound notifications. I was impressed with the manageability and device options (using a third party handler). real issue. The device has not responded after 6 days of use. SmartThings reported this device as unavailable, but in fact Siren 6 was completely off. First I checked the power supply and swapped the outlets. All power sources were fine, but the device wouldn't turn on (didn't light up, didn't respond to the action button, and is still not accessible to SmartThings). Okay, maybe "one time" so sending it back for a replacement is a great service from Revain. I will let you know when I get the replacement and if it survives the next return date.
