I bought this wrist strap for my 7 year old to use at Disney World. While it might seem old-fashioned to use something like this, he likes to run ahead on his own when he sees something that interests him, and I didn't want to end up bullying him. I liked this product because it wasn't a stuffed animal backpack too young for that age. What I liked best was that the length allowed him to basically just walk beside me and I didn't have to keep his hand in a sweaty death grip the whole time. The only issue I've had with this product is that it contracts terribly when the child pulls away from you - in a way it's a good deterrent to push away from you, but then again I've kept loosening it up because I don't want it to hurt his wrist because it was too tight. I wanted it to have a real velcro strap on the baby's end. I often slipped it through the belt loop hidden by his shirt instead of his wrist, which worked really well for us. When I didn't need it (restaurants, shops, times when we weren't out in large crowds, etc.) I simply removed the end from my wrist and slipped the band into my pocket. Went like clockwork. Overall I was very happy with it, it was good value, it looked exactly how I wanted it (not like a kid) and it definitely stuck with me and did its job! I'm very glad I bought it and it was a life saver at times as I used both hands without having to hold his hand the whole 5 days we were at Disney!
