I tried it after using traditional clumping cat litter for a long time

I was the first to clean the litter box and used traditional cat litter for over 10 years (daily scooping). I don't have an automatic litter box, I used the litter in a regular litter box. I have 1 large cat (12lbs) and a large hooded litter box. Pros: - It's easier to clean up every day - just scoop out the solids and swirl the litter around to avoid flooding areas. Much easier and less messy. Definitely less dirt marks outside the bowl. I don't find random pieces of garbage everywhere in my apartment (small marks on the garbage mat and in the immediate vicinity). - It's a saving on refilling Litter Genie - since clumps of urine don't end up in the Litter Genie, it doesn't need to be emptied frequently. Cons: very dusty. It's just as dusty, or maybe dustier, than traditional clumping litter. Not sure if this is the batch I received and might try a different brand of silica filler to be sure. It will not last a month (the instructions say to change the filler once a month). After a little over a week, the smell of urine in the immediate vicinity of the tray becomes quite penetrating. This is with only one cat and I even used two bags to fill the box (because it's a large litter box - one bag didn't fill it). It really needs to be changed every 2 weeks - I've seen this in other reviews and thought maybe these people are just being very tidy or a lot of cats are using the same boxes. I would say if your litter box is in the area where you live, or if your cat really wants a clean litter box, you won't live a month. If you have multiple cats I can't imagine you could use this - you might even struggle to get to 2 weeks and need a weekly shift. Considering I don't think I can last a month and I had to use 2 bags to fill the box, it's EXPENSIVE. After all, I'm not going to spend more than $40 a month on kitty litter. Unfortunately, because it's really easier in everyday life.
