I have been looking for heavy duty clippers for a long time and I looked at Oster clippers but they were very expensive. I was ready to buy a used pair when a friend recommended them and she was right. My little Welsh Cross Pony has such a thick winter coat that regular clippers just won't cut through it. It takes hours and multiple sessions to trim her body completely. They did it in about an hour, maybe a bit longer because I was taking breaks. Like all other clippers of this type, they are noisy, but I've heard a lot louder when it comes to large clippers. My pony didn't mind at all. In my opinion, Oster Clipmasters are much louder than these. I didn't have time to bathe my bangs before clipping them and these clippers didn't even bother me. The blades didn't dull as quickly and cut as they had at first, even though her coat was dirty. Some powerful clippers need to be reworked with thinner clippers, but these color very well. I could even get into her tight spots, like over her shoulder and into her side, without her paying much attention. They didn't get too hot either. I only had to spray cool lube on them about every 10 minutes or so, and it was for lubrication rather than warming. I cannot recommend these scissors enough. They save lives and make haircuts much faster. I'm going to try my fine-haired Quarter Horse next, and I'm sure these clippers will get the job done in under 30 minutes or so, while my smaller clippers can take a couple of hours.
