Review on Petmate Barnhome III: Durable Shelter for Small Pets up to 15lbs by Jackie Archuleta

Saw a YouTube video of this medium sized kennel that can be used for housing wild cats. The size is surprisingly large. Comfortably accommodates 2 cats. To have a front and rear emergency door, simply tilt the roof back. Voila, it's now a two-door cat house. I insulated the interior with Reflectix bubble wrap. This helps them keep warm by reflecting their own body heat. I also filled them with straw for bedding. Please do not use blankets, towels or other bedding fabrics outdoors as they retain moisture, get wet and become mouldy. Cats will stop using. I also glued the outsides where the snap hole is to further protect it from rain. I watered it the other day and the inside stayed dry so everything worked. I also plan to put on some clear vinyl door trim to keep out drafts. As you can see in the picture, the wild cat has already come in and out. They take turns using it, but there's a one-eyed kitty who's made it his usual roost. It was a great purchase. It is a strong thick hard plastic, very well made. Yes, I highly recommend it. In my opinion this is more for placement in a barn, porch or garage. I don't think it would be warm enough. You'll need to add extra insulation and straw bedding to keep it warm and cozy. I use other outdoor shelters made from coolers and if you want to treat yourself buy an ASL insulated kennel, it's worth it.
