Used for soup - it leaked quite a bit. I did a temperature test first: I filled the canister with hot water, then I filled it 3/4 full with 185 temp "hot" water. "warm". Pretty good considering the price. The next day I did the same thing with my soup, but when I put the can in my purse, it spat the soup into the lid, and with no time to fix anything, I put it on the lunch bag that came with it so my stuff wouldn't be any more go bankrupt. I heard it gurgling and hissing as I walked. The lunch bag was pretty wet. But the soup was still warm! I think it would be ok for low liquid dishes but maybe not for soups unless it worked for me. No exhaust valve so I don't know how to fix no return. I'll try to check again.
