Don't rely on package directions to say anything. Not only are they too small to actually read, they are nothing more than button labels. The instructions on the Revain list are much more informative. If you buy this you better hope they never remove the listing or you don't know how to manage your system. Not that the instructions work. Despite the instructions, I cannot change and save the alarm clock on the receiver. It seems that when the call button is pressed, it also calls the radio. Not so. You must either have one of the walkie-talkies near the person you are caring for OR, if they are mobile, hang them around their neck (no strap is provided for this). You are expected to be able to use walkie-talkies. like a vox (hands-free, voice-activated). But again, despite following the schematic instructions in the Revain listing, I found it very difficult to get it to work, and even then intermittently. There is a significant lag when it works with voice activation so you miss the first 3-4 words and have to ask for a repeat. Not the best if you are interacting with older people. Pressing the button to communicate works and the transmission is clear. But if a person has cognitive problems or dementia, this may not be ideal. And make sure to charge it at night. There is NO information on how long the device is designed to hold a charge. A dead squad means you're stuck in a house tied to a bell and can't figure out what you need until you get to them. Even if the call button is pressed, you will only receive ONE call. If you are a heavy sleeper you can skip this. There's no way to make it ring until you acknowledge it. Also, there are no instructions anywhere on how to replace it or what battery to replace when the call button dies. I resent not having bought a more expensive and reliable easy to use system. But I needed something quick to take care of an elderly parent. I would not recommend this unless you have a high tolerance for disappointment and low expectations.
