Hope I never have to use it! However, I like the peace of mind of having them in the house. Have one on top and one on bottom in case of an emergency. They are neatly packaged and ready to be hung on the wall. They have cords so all you have to do is pull the cord and the duvet will come loose from its cover. The blankets themselves are white. Didn't pull the cord unless I put it back in properly
