So I read all the reviews here before I bought it and I thought this DVD fixer works for a lot of people. I've looked pretty closely at the negative reviews and after using the thing I figured they either didn't follow the instructions or the drive is probably beyond repair anyway. So here is my experience and advice after trying to recover 5 disks. #1 - Be realistic. I bought this specifically to fix a couple of XBOX 360 and DVD games that weren't working properly. All discs had scratches but one was very bad and I decided I couldn't fix it. Out of the 5 drives I tried to fix, 3 worked fine again, 1 worked better, and 1 was a really bad drive that I couldn't fix, which wasn't a surprise as it was really scratched. Big WIN. My old XBOX 360 NCAA soccer ball is still my favorite as they don't make a new version for XBOX ONE and it works until mid game and then freezes. After starting via SkipDr I can now play normally and have a season and everything. Another important one was the DVD, which is out of production and rare - it skipped an entire scene and is now running again. #2 - Follow the instructions. apply to a disc like sandpaper. The wheel spins the disk very slowly so it appears as if it is not spinning, but it is. BUFF BUFF BUFF - when you're done in the car you need to buff very well with the little white square. I found on two discs that they had not been repaired UNTIL I went back and polished them very well a second time. #3 - Stripes stay on your hard drive, but they should be there. A lot of people in the negative reviews say things ruined their discs. Seriously, how can anything mess up your unplayable, scratched disc? When I first used it I was a bit worried because it leaves streaks on the windows, but even with the lines the windows were repaired. However, the lines are there all the time. So if you're looking for that perfect like-new finish, this doesn't help. However, it works and the lines aren't a problem - it's even mentioned in their instruction video. So no, he didn't ruin your disc, he's trying to put it back together like he's fixing your car's brake discs. Also many people said - didn't erase my hard drive. This is not a cleaner, it will update your DVD. #4 - Run the drive a few times if it doesn't work the first time. One of my discs didn't fix the first time but I ran it through 2 full revolutions and then repolished and it started working. So if it doesn't work the first time, try a few times. So was it worth repairing 4 out of 5 of my drives? You can bet it is! Even if he only fixed one, it would be worth it. I know this won't work for everyone or on every drive, but for the price, it's worth it.
