Review on OCEANBROAD Adjustable Kayak Paddle: 86In-94In & Fixed 90In With Leash - 1 Paddle by Vinay Kolluri

So far seems like it’ll be a great paddle for me as a beginner

My wife and I have been on kayak and SUP tours and wanted to get out there on our own some. On top of being stuff with Covid this last year, we are both recovering from physical issues (her a severely broken foot, me major surgery). So we decided we needed to plan something fun for when we can get back out into the world - as of this writing it’s still a few weeks off. With that in mind, we recently got 2 inflatable SUPS (easier for us to transport). I have a few past teen-year sports injuries, so I tend to end up sitting and prefer using the SUP as a kayak - so I wanted to have a kayak paddle and gave this OCEANBROAD Kayak Paddle New Blade 230CM/90.5 Inches a try. I am a beginner with some experience, so not an expert, and I’m using it on occasion - so read this review with that grain of salt. From what I can tell, this is a nice, good paddle. I do feel it MIGHT be slightly heavier than I would have expected - but it’s relative. We are looking for casual paddling of short to medium range trips. We are also planning on taking it to the inter-coastal area, so not open water and not lakes. So the weight seems like something I’ll be able to handle. It comes in two pieces, snapping together at the center - the snap and connection are easy to do - together/apart - and feel and appear secure. We do have another paddle - this one by caparison is slightly shorter and wider and slightly heavier. But I do like how this one feels. The OCEANBROAD Kayak Paddle New Blade 230CM/90.5 Inches came with an included detachable leash - which is a nice addition and keeps me from having to buy one for it. Overall I find I like this paddle and look forward to getting out there to use it as soon as possible.

Pros
  • ‎OCEANBROAD
Cons
  • The leash attachment point can become cumbersome and may get in the way during paddling.
