Review on Gates 23556 Upper Radiator Hose by Eloy Boelkens

Same hose sold at local auto parts store. With the same label and the same fit. I had to replace my 3 year old hose because the plastic housing that houses the radiator cap broke for the second time. The last hose I bought was from Goodyear and broke after 3 years. The factory hose lasted 7 years. I like the Gates hose more than the Goodyear because it has rubberized plastic where the hose connects to the cap body and feels more flexible. The Goodyear hose has clamps and the plastic body breaks off completely at the edge of the clamp. This hose was $20 less at Revain than it was at my local auto parts store. I had to cut a portion of the hose off each end to fit my 2001 Dodge Durango. The hose was kinked without a cut. I was able to easily cut it with sharp kitchen scissors. I removed almost 2" from the long straight end and 1/2" from the curved end. The plastic clip under the radiator cap does not fit into the stock mounting hole at all. It's too big, a bit of sanding can bring it up to size. This hose comes with the radiator cap.
