Review on Wireless Bluetooth USB Adapter For Gaming Consoles And PC: MAYFLASH Magic-S Ultimate, Compatible With PS4, Switch, Xbox Series X & S, PS5, MacOS, Windows, Raspberry Pi And More by Tom Lawson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works with some inconveniences

Edit: Haven't used it for a while for the issues I wrote in my original review. Decided to try it again, updated the firmware and now it syncs up fine with PS4 Pro. Hooked it up to my Switch and then back to my PS4 Pro. Put my PS4 Pro into rest mode and turned it back on. Detected my systems automatically which was my biggest issue originally. But. I've been playing a lot of Dreams on PS4 and apparently it doesn't support motion control with the Switch Pro Controller which is pretty important in Dreams. Kind of a bummer so I'll keep the 4 stars rating. Will update if things change. It took a while to link up. Nintendo Switch pro controller to PS4 Pro. A bit confusing. I followed the directions and kept doing it over and over until it finally worked. After that, however, it links up no problem. I wish the touchpad button could be assigned to "-" button on NS pro controller instead of the capture button (or pressing both "-" and "+"), but that's not a big deal. It doesn't wake the PS4 out of rest mode, but I kinda expected that. My biggest complaint and why I took off a star (could easily be a 3 star rating for me) is that every time the PS4 goes into rest mode, have to re-sync the controller. Not only that but the Mayflash goes into a different mode. So for reference, every time I turn on the console, I have to press and hold the Mayflash button to put it into PS4 mode, press the button again to put it into sync mode, and press and hold the sync button on the pro controller until it starts the syncing process (which is a pain on this controller cause it's so small and hard to press). It's a little annoying, but it works so I guess I like it cause I'm not a fan of the dualshock controller. But is it worth going through that process every time I turn on the console? Honestly, IDK.

Pros
  • Ready to use
Cons
  • The device tends to heat up quickly and can be uncomfortable to hold for long periods
