My daily shaver is the Braun Series 3 which I am very happy with. It's a bit big for travel though, so I decided to try this Series 1 to pack in my shaving kit. This Series 1 isn't as reliable as the Series 3, but it does get the job done with a little more effort. If you have more stubble during the day, this device can get the job done, but you'll need to lightly stroke your beard a few times before you can achieve a true shave. So it takes more time and effort, but for casual travel use, it suits me. If you have a thin beard, this can be suitable for everyday use. Those with thick beards should not buy this device and opt for the Series 3 instead. (Don't worry about the more expensive Brauns, they really aren't that much better, and automatic cleaners don't last long and wear out more. Instead, spend your money on replacement heads.) Also, advice for those new to these Braun razors : Use them dry. I know they advertise that they can be run wet and are therefore worthwhile, but I really see no point in introducing water into a process that works well without water (better, IMO). Follow the cleaning instructions. Remove the head, tap it and brush the engine block from time to time to clean it. That's all.
