Yes, the top rivet fell out. It has a velcro closure but the backpack does not need to be attached due to the construction and straps. This is by far the best hydration pack I have ever used and includes the last 15 years of mountain biking. I've used over a dozen different packs of all brands and prices. I use this pack when I'm on my R1200GS. I like the single buckle, I like the velcro on the bite flap for quick attachment to my belt. The pockets hold what I need and keep me from being overloaded. This pack is highly reflective. If I had to buy it again I would pay almost full price, that's how I like it.
