I couldn't believe that there are no reviews yet for this product which I have been using in my workshop on the Performax 16-32 for a few years. In general, a great option. Cutting is easy using the color coded lines for your particular drum, although I think there is a dark green line that could easily be confused with the black line which is "my" line. The main problem I've had is its tendency to create "hot spots" - especially on wood like cherry with its pockets of resin - and then continue to leave a burn line down the length of the board as the burn through problem grows like one snowball Once the paper burns, that's it. You can scrape/chip off the burnt resin from the drum, but I still mark the spot with a pencil on the sander so I don't have to throw anything else over the spot. Since I'm using a lot of slats/panels I can get away with that, but if you're using it for a lot of wide panels it could be a whole different problem. The only remedy I've found, and it's not 100% accurate, is to make *extremely* light passes at a fairly high rate of feed. In practice, the paper delivers an almost finished quality on woods such as mahogany and oak, which can obscure the finish. flaws pretty good. On maple, walnut and cherry it leaves particularly tight areas around branches etc. very visible straight scratches which require a good reverse osmosis sanding at 150-180-220 or a good furniture scraper to remove. (If you use a scraper afterwards, I'd hit the RO surface briefly with 180 or 220 and blow or vacuum the dust, or the residual abrasives from that paper will dull the burr on your scraper quickly!) I still think, That being the case is a better solution than going straight from the planer to a reverse osmosis sander, but it can be a board-to-board thing. An added benefit of this type of abrasive is that when I need to remove the old one from my sander (I usually use about 5 inches long and the roll is about 3.5 inches wide), it's easy to tear off the less worn areas into hand-sized pieces ) and for hand sanding, especially of profiles where the rigidity of the resin/fabric backing is an advantage. They can generate serious heat in a hurry though, so take it easy or wrap your thumb/fingers - it really is that hot. Overall this is a good bet and it will last you for a long time. Just finished my first cast in years and many, many hundreds of BFs with this.
