***Edited on November 3rd. I'm changing my rating for this phone from two stars to four stars. The company that sells this particular product was very concerned about the two star rating. They tried several times to convince me to request another phone to fix the problem. At first I just ignored her emails thinking it would be different? Although I ignored their emails, they still sent me another phone to try. The phone that came with it does what it's supposed to do. It amplifies the sound coming into the phone to a volume suitable for the hearing impaired. Or at least for my mother. I have never seen a company work as hard to restore service as these guys. The only reason this phone doesn't get a five star rating is that it's too light to keep on a desk if you tug on the phone too hard. If the base had been a bit heavier, it would have gotten 5 stars. If my mother needed a second cell phone, I would buy this one again. ****Phone is listed as amplified for the hearing impaired. The listing says up to 40dB and is suitable for people with hearing impairments. The volume is actually very low, even when cranked all the way up. It is difficult to hear even for a normal hearing person.
